Our client is a well respected and leading global Drug Development Services company that provide support to the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology industries. They now are recruiting for an Interim Regional Accounting Manager who currently resides in 25 mile radius of Slough to work out their UK office on a 10 month contract. The Role
The purpose and remit of the Interim Regional Accounting Manager role:-
* Management of a regional accounting team including recruitment, training, development, objective setting and completion of midyear and annual reviews
* Ensuring complete, accurate and timely accounting, reporting and compliance for various group companies and branches
* Review and approve journal entries to ensure accurate accounting in accordance with relevant accounting standards and policies
* Manage month end close in accordance with the close timetable
* Review monthly reporting and ensure significant variances from monthly trend and MOR are investigated and explained
* Ensure timely completion of quarterly SEC information
* Review and ensure timely submission of monthly cash flow forecasts
* Review and approve monthly balance sheet reconciliations
* Ensure complete and timely submission of all required information and documentation to local service providers
* Maintain strong relationships with local service providers, advisors and auditors
* Ensure timely completion and filing of monthly/quarterly/annual VAT returns
* Ensure timely completion of annual audits and filing of statutory financial statements (SFS)
* Ensure timely completion and filing of corporate income tax (CIT) returns
* Ensure timely completion and filing of statistical returns
* Ensure effective and consistent operation of internal controls in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements
* Ensure continual review and improvement of processes to strengthen controls, improve productivity and reduce cost
* Support global and regional process improvement initiatives
* Support the set up of new companies and branches
* Complete ad hoc projects and tasks as required

The Candidate
The Interim Regional Accounting Manager experience and qualifications:-
* Fully Qualified Accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA
* 5+ years post qualification experience
* Strong accounting, reporting and compliance experience, including VAT returns, audit, statutory financial statements and corporate income tax returns
* Strong Excel skills
* Good financial systems experience, preferably Peoplesoft
* Experience in an international, multicurrency environment, preferably US corporate
* Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The Reward
